Anatomical curiosity cabinet

On the 8th floor of the Ecole de Medicine is the spookiest museum in the universe. You need to call long time ahead because there's no staff to unlock the doors or guard the precious collection of anatomical objects made for the sole purpose of science and education, other than a retired professor following his passion at 85 benevolently, keeping the doors open by appointment only. Professor Roger Saban is unlike anyone I've ever met before.

Anatomy Museum - Syphilis

He's not just a professor of anatomy, he's passionate like a young terrier about multidisciplinary medical science. Today's medical science, he cries, is dedicated to gene research and has abandoned its anatomy roots. Doctors are treating patients for pharmaceutical reasons rather than healing their body by studying and knowing anatomy.

The collection was created during the Revolution in 1795. It contains specimens of anatomical science harmful to the squirmy person. Sex, syphilis, overt sexual waxworks could be morally harassing to socially correct people. Yet it's an incredible show better than any Vivendi-Universal blockbuster.

The current Minister of Education (the collection is protected as Cultural Monument), should preserve it - it's justified by its splendid collection.
