Karen Margolis

KAREN MARGOLIS (b. 1952 in Harare, Zimbabwe) was educated in South Africa and London, graduated as a mathematician in 1974 and has since moved mainly in the world of words as a freelance author, poet, journalist, editor, broadcaster and translator. She has lived in Berlin since 1983 and gave up smuggling samizdat after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 but persisted with the habit of system opposition. Her favourite words are "feminist" and "subversion".
