I bought a ticket by the tube
And realized it wasn't required
When I sought refund
To my utter surprise
The counter girl said
It couldn't be done: no system
That's when I offered her the ticket free
But she told me -
Take it back to your country
And use it when you return
Be it ten years later

I keep telling my country men
How much one could learn
From Parisians
About the honesty of the counter girl
The old buildings maintained as new
Art galleries with gaping visitors
Tourist traffic by the hordes
For cities in the European Union
Landing in Paris before
Departing for others
That's what tourism is all about
The smartness of cab drivers
Pleasant women at the scent shops
Thoughts of champagne tantalize the mind
As you walk down pollution-free roads
The side walks choked with colorful people
Eating and drinking on restaurant shop-fronts
The spirit of bonhomie everywhere
Fast cars and motor cycles speeding by
Recall the youthfulness and energy
That won the world cup.
One is left to wonder
If there's any city in the world
Like Paris. Unforgettable Paris!
